COVID-19 Preparedness and Response Plan

To our valued Customers,
With the situation related to the COVID-19 virus outbreak rapidly evolving, we will update customers formally each Monday, with additional periodic updates as required, to keep you fully informed on our current status, our preparedness measures, and our response and remediation plans.
- We currently have no interruption to regular warehouse and transportation services in our network
- We will continue to work normal operating shifts at all PLG facilities with the exception of some larger facilities, where we are in some cases staggering work shifts to limit the number of associates in the facility at one time in accordance with regulatory guidance
- We have seen no significant increase in absenteeism or a decrease in fill rate with our associates
In addition to the measures we outlined in our March 10th Preparedness and Response Plan, we are taking the following measures:
- Limiting all external (non-customer) visitors to our facilities
- Social distancing protocols in place for all meetings, team announcements, and workspaces
- Enhanced cleaning and disinfecting of common use equipment
The following questions are the most common inquiries from our customers:
What will PLG do if you have a confirmed case at a facility?
The safety and well-being of our associates is our top concern. In the event of a confirmed case in one of our facilities, we will alert the proper local health authorities regarding their advice on how best to protect the health of other associates at that facility. While it is very difficult to obtain specific guidance in this fluid situation, our current plan is to close the impacted facility for 72 – 96 hours and use external cleaning services to clean the facility. A recent study found that COVID-19 remains viable on hard surfaces for up to 72 hours and on cardboard for up to 24 hours1. Assuming some quarantine requirement for workers in that facility, we would restart operations in 72-96 hours with staff from other non-impacted facilities and temporary agency labor.
If a facility I use in the PLG network is closed, can I store my goods in another location? Can PLG operate (fulfill orders) from this location?
PLG will make every effort to provide temporary storage in trailers, in our other facilities in our network, or in outside temporary storage locations. Currently we recommend storage only in off-site locations based on our current plan to re-open impacted facilities in 72-96 hours.
What if there is a long-term impact to a facility?
Our operations, engineering and IT teams are working on a quick-response operating package (wireless system connectivity, simplified temporary facility layouts and operating instructions for temporary labor) that could be quickly implemented in PLG’s current open capacity to provide continuity of service (on a limited basis). We will have more information on this option in the coming days.

- PLG’S COVID-19 response is being coordinated from our Headquarters location in City of Industry, CA by Janise Kring, EVP of Operations; Valerie Gart, SVP of Human Resources, and Desmond Olivarria, Director of Risk Management.
- Communications like this one, with any change in CURRENT SITUATION or changes in our preparedness efforts that could impact your operations will be communicated through your local PLG contacts.
- We will immediately notify customers of any impact of cases of COVID-19 at PLG.
